Why IDS: Student Centered

Student Centered | Ideals | Staff Development

Relevant Instruction
IDS provides instruction that is rigorous and relevant, demanding yet supportive, responsive to the unique strengths and needs of each individual student. We help students to understand and accept themselves. Rather than judging themselves by comparison with others, we challenge them to strive for their personal best. We use teaching strategies that appeal to different learning styles. By providing hands-on, authentic, cooperative and active learning experiences, we enable our students to move beyond their preferred learning styles and to develop a variety of learning skills to achieve outstanding academic success.

A School of Excellence
To move into the twenty-first century, we begin students' exposure to environmental, technological, social and other global changes that shape the world they will inherit as adults. We help students begin to build skills and knowledge they will need for the future.

A Healthy Diversity
We help students to understand their own cultural heritage, the heritage of other world cultures, and current and future issues of concern to them as world citizens.
