Independent Day SchoolCorbett Campus Soccer Team Wins Florida West Coast League 2010 Championship

Independent Day SchoolCorbett Campus enjoyed a terrific soccer season winning the regular season title and entering the Florida West Coast League’s season ending tournament as the #1 seed.
After winning their semifinal match in an overtime contest, the IDS Warriors’ fell behind early in the championship game 10. At halftime the team regrouped and came out for the second half like a team on a mission. The Warriors scored four goals in the second half to win the FWCL Tournament in a convincing fashion with a final score of 41.
The team was led by a tremendous group of eighth grade athletes with help from their hardworking seventh grade teammates. Eighth grader Jacob Starnes led the team with a goal and two assists. Seventh grader Corey Shamley scored two goals, one being the exciting gamewinning goal.
Defensively the Warriors had tremendous leadership from Nathan Rice and Reed Berlet with outstanding plays in the Championship game and outstanding goal tending from Aurilien Boulangeat all season long.
