Clubs, Electives and Advisory
MIDDLE SCHOOL ELECTIVES:
The process for joining a middle school elective takes an application process that identifies good reasons for the student to invest in the opportunity that extends beyond a core curriculum. Parents are part of the process to choose and are required to sign-off on the choice. Electives meet at least once a week and the students earn a grade for the elective which is designed to either build on a students gifted areas or open up new and fascinating experiences and interests.
Some of the options for electives include: Art, Band, Musical Theatre, International Cultural Exchange Team, Drama/Forensics, Thespians, Engineering-Bridge Building, Activities played from Around the World, Geometry, Geography Bee, Literature in Film, Math Skill Building, Science Fair, Chinese, Spanish, Italian, Stock market, WIDS Television News Production, WIDS Digital Video Crew, Yearbook, Journal and literary writing etc.
