Independent Day School Sets Date for Golf Benefit at Avila
For
immediate release:
December 6, 20O1
Tampa, FL
The
seventh annual Independent Day School (IDS) Kids Classic Golf Benefit
will take place on Feb. 25, 2002 at the Avila Golf & Country
Club in Tampa. The IDS tournament, which is a modified scramble
format, is one of only five benefit tournaments that the Avila club
will be hosting next year.
"As of next year, the Avila Golf and Country Club is limiting
the number of charity tournaments that will be played on their course,"
said Leann Rowe, IDS golf tournament chairperson. "Since Avila
is the premier course in Tampa, we're thrilled that the IDS tournament
will continue to take place here."
IDS tournament committee members believe that the more limited opportunities
for nonmembers to play the highly desirable course at Avila will
make the IDS Kids Classic Golf Benefit -- which has always been
a sell-out in previous years -- an even more popular tournament
in Tampa for serious golfers. "We're looking forward to our
most successful tournament to date," said Rowe.
To ensure a smooth flowing day of golf and a successful tournament,
the number of players is limited to 120, and all those interested
in playing are encouraged to register as soon as possible. The entry
fee is $250 which covers the school's costs involved with hosting
the tournament at Avila, in addition to each participant's round
of golf, lunch and dinner. A player gift, drinks and snacks are
also included.
