Family-Friendly Chamber Music Concert

Tampa, Florida.
Independent
Day School-Corbett Campus (IDS-CC) in Tampa will host a classical
chamber music concert on Feb. 9, 2003 at 3:00 pm. The program will
feature professional musicians from some of Florida's finest orchestras.
They will perform "Quartet for the End of Time" by Olivier
Messiaen, and Franz Schubert's "Shepherd on the Rock."
The general public is welcome. Tickets are $5.00 and are available
by calling the school at 961-3087, or at the door.
The program is part of the school's Reflections concert series -
family-friendly chamber music concerts designed to appeal to children
and adults alike. The programs are approximately one hour in length,
and are presented in the intimate setting of the IDS-CC Theater
on Lake Lipsey.
The performance will feature Stewart Kitts, associate concertmaster
for The Florida Orchestra. He will be joined by Florida Orchestra
cellist Fred Gratta; Stacey McColley, clarinetist with the Southwest
Florida Symphony; Olga Glick, pianist from the University of South
Florida Community School; and Barbara McBride, soprano and IDS-CC
music teacher.
"We are delighted with the success of this concert series,
which is now in its second season," said McColley, IDS music
teacher. "IDS is unique in this area in providing classical
musical performances. We're excited to be a center for culture and
education for the community."
The next concert in the series will highlight Igor Stravinsky's
"Octet" on April 13.
Founded in 1968, IDS, recently renamed Independent Day School-Corbett
Campus, is a fully accredited, independent school located in northwest
